An Open Loop system consists of, a borehole that has been drilled and lined to abstract water to run through a heat exchanger.
An Closed Loop system consists of a single or multiple boreholes that have a geothermal plastic pipe loop installed. A heat transfer fluid is pumped around the geothermal loop and brings heat from the ground to the heat pump and can be used to heat a property.
